- kirkwood mural -

they just painted a huge mural under the bridge near arizona ave and dekalb ave in kirkwood that is awesome! we wish they would have done a similar mural under the rocky ford rd bridge, ours is not nearly as fun. – ryan & gub

- indie craft experience -

the indie craft experience holiday shopping spectacular was fantastic as usual! we nearly finished our holiday shopping, so i would consider that a full success. and in case you missed it, don’t worry, ICE is also hosting a pop-up shop inside criminal records from december 1st through the 24th! they will have a ton of [...]

- latte art –

i appreciate coffee shops that take the extra effort to create artwork with their coffee drinks. here are some photos from dancing goats, octane coffee and west egg cafe. octane even hosts latte art competitions called thursday night throw down! – ryan

- gulp -

check out gulp, it’s an amazing stop motion animation by sumo science at aardman! the filming broke a world record for the ‘largest stop-motion animation set’, with scenes stretching over 11,000 square feet. it was shot entirely on a nokia n8 camera phone, which is impressive as well. you can watch a making-of video here. [...]

- clementine press -

clementine worked great as a printing press! we wanted to stamp her hands and feet in her baby book and decided to make a few cards while the ink was wet. they turned out really cute! – ryan & gub

- paint by numbers grid -

we made a vintage paint by numbers grid on a wall in our family room. we think it turned out great! the two cutout paintings were made by stephen & shauna from something’s hiding in here. check out our post on vintage paint by numbers for more details on them. – ryan & gub

- nursery transformation: complete -

we finally got our flor tiles for the finishing touches on clementine’s nursery! the rug really ties the room together. our good friend debbie also loaned us this folk art painting by mose tolliver. it was recently included in the “we are folk” exhibit at the hudgens center where gub works. it’s perfect for the [...]

- hyatt regency -

i found myself on another work project at the hyatt regency in downtown atlanta and was once again impressed with the architecture of john portman. the open design of this hotels interior and its elevator system is quite amazing, especially knowing it’s open for over 44 years. the hotel also offers some great views of [...]

- under the bridge downtown -

have you ever noticed the murals under the train tracks on ralph mcgill blvd near freedom pkwy? one side of the street is more graffiti-style and the other side has these cool bicyclists. the bicyclists side also has a beltline of atlanta logo, so it’s somehow affiliated with the atlanta beltline. – ryan

- suntrust building -

have you ever explored the suntrust building and surrounding areas in downtown atlanta? it’s a pretty area to walk around in case you’ve never been. the building is another design by john portman, and besides the cool architecture, there are lots of sculptures around the interior and exterior, including works by pablo picasso. there are [...]
