- plane ride home -

i headed home from canada this weekend. the trip went great, however i’d be lying if i said i’ll miss the cold canadian weather. i’m looking forward to driving on roads that aren’t icy and not having my hands hurt because i forgot to put on my gloves. – ryan

- ontario booze -

to purchase alcohol in ontario you have to head to an lcbo, which stands for liquor control board of ontario. it’s a state run store that sells beer, wine, and spirits. if you are just looking for beer you can head to the beer store, a privately owned operation that sells beer. it definitely seemed [...]

- canadian groceries -

i love grocery shopping in foreign countries, even if it’s just while visiting our neighbor to the north. you always notice subtle differences from shopping at home and find totally random things for sale. not surprisingly, most items are labeled in english and french in canada instead of english and spanish like down south. it [...]

- tim hortons -

we have had a decent amount of tim hortons while up here in the great white north. it’s in essence the canadian version of dunkin’ donuts. i’ve enjoyed it, although as you can see from the photo, the snow has been quite crazy. – ryan

we went to the olde pink house in savannah for our thanksgiving meal this year. the food was quite tasty in this beautiful old house! be sure to check out the pumpkin desert below. it was served in a mini pumpkin! – ryan & gub

- florida beer company -

on our recent trip to florida we visited the florida beer company tasting room and brewery. here they brew hurricane reef, ybor gold, key west, la tropical and other florida beers. the brewery was fairly small, offering a fun intimate setting for the visitor. the tasting room was on the second floor of the building, [...]

- starr’s mill -

i have been working in senoia, ga this entire week. yesterday, my buddy ian and i got up early to check out this amazing mill before work. we had noticed a nearby historical marker earlier in the week and decided to stop by for further exploration. we ended up finding this beautiful old mill, called [...]

- luther glass park -

i’ve been working in senoia, ga this week. it’s fairly close to peachtree city, which is about an hour south of the atlanta. the fall foliage is quite pretty here, especially in luther glass park. – ryan

- mid century bank -

we decided to take the scenic route on our way to florida and we passed through alma, georgia where we spotted this amazing mid century bank, still in operation! alma exchange bank & trust drive-in branch, we love you. – ryan & gub

- satellite beach, florida -

we had a great day at satellite beach today! there was lots of fun and sun and the heat was surprisingly tame. we topped off the day with some soft serve from a roadside stand called moo’s. here’s to florida beaches in november! too bad nasa keeps delaying the shuttle launch. – ryan & gub
